Current Needs
Fall Semester UPDATE
We need your support more now than ever as Ecole Destined For Grace continues the 2024/2025 school year. Our students are beyond excited to be at school and learning together. As we continually work to improve our campus, our students have more space and are more secure.
With the current security concerns in Haiti, it is imperative that our school campus and the surrounding gardens remain safe. We have begun construction of a fence that will surround the entire 5 acre property owned by Destined for Grace. This project is necessary to secure the property as more and more people are traveling through the area. The entire property that includes the school and the school gardens will be secured by the fence. The continuation of the fence is happening December 2024 because it is the dry season in Haiti.
Many of our students rely on Destined For Grace for an education but also for food. We provide a morning snack along with a hot lunch each day. Feeding our students has become and important and necessary aspect of our project. We are happy that the students are able to rely on Destined for Grace to meet this need. The garden at our school provides many fruits and vegetables that are included in our students meals. Even with supplementing meals with food grown in our garden a significant expense each month is our Meal Program. We spend around $2000 a month to feel the 250 students on our campus. Please consider making a donation towards our Meal Program to help feed and fuel our students to learn.

Classroom Fund
Each year we need to furnish and update the school with new desks, chairs, tables and chalkboards for our students to learn! The following is a breakdown of what the items needed cost:

Sponsor a Child
If you would like to sponsor a child’s education at our school in Haiti you can do so for $125 a year. This includes a meal a day for your student, a uniform, basic school supplies and a solar light. Please send a check to our mailing address P.O. Box 925 Carpinteria, CA 93014 and indicate in the memo line sponsorship and we will match you up with one of our students. You can also donate online through PayPal just use the DONATE button above. If you are in the Santa Barbara area, stop in one of our thrift stores and ask about the sponsorship program and we can get you involved. We are currently accepting sponsorships for the 2024/2025 school year.
School Supplies
Due to Haiti’s current volatile political situation our ability to get supplies to Haiti is very limited. Purchasing items in Haiti is the safest, most effective way to supply the school. If you would like to contribute to the purchase of school supplies please note so in the memo line of your check or in the notes when donating online.

Donations must be clean, in working order, and salable or they will be denied. All donations are accepted at our staff’s discretion. If they do not think it will sell in our store, they will not take it. Receipts are available upon request.

ClOTHING: Gently used women’s, Men’s, and Children’s clothing including shoes and accessories
HOUSEHOLD: Gently used household items such as towels, sheets, curtains, throw rugs
All kinds of items you would find in the kitchen and bathrooms, plus kick-knacks, pictures, books, toys, games, baskets, sporting goods, tools, etc.
Small appliances and electronics that are in good working order
FURNITURE: Only SMALL furniture such as End Tables and Light Chairs without unsightly stains, rips or odors
